Two big installations, one mostly on Iraq here , and a special New Orleans flood edition here.

I'll be bäck

A fun piece of related bar trivia: Schwarzenegger's current fundraising tour will put him even with Gray Davis in the total number of days spent outside the state. Note that it took Davis more than a full term to get to that level of truancy (113 days) and Arnold has matched him after only 18 months as Governor.

Governor Girlie Man

A Washington lobbyist, who's tangled with Schwarzenegger before, is at it again — selling a bobblehead doll of the Governator in a pretty pink dress.

You can buy your own (for only $19.95!), listen to sound samples from what is hopefully the world's only female Schwarzenegger impersonator, and see a truly unsettling animation of the doll dancing at governorgirlieman.com.

And for a great piece about the Minutemen, see the newest post at Orcinus.

Puttin' on the Ritz

Dressed up like a million dollar trooper...

As reported here earlier (and again), today's protest is getting attention all over the press. See...it's even in the comics.

I think we've got the news cycle on this one. How much corporate money will Arnold have to raise in order to counterbalance the negative publicity the protest will cause?

Proactively prodding pro-"life" protesters

Infiltration of a nutbag Christian protest against Terri Schiavo's right to die as she would have wished rather than being kept alive as a brainless puppet for the pro-life movement and her mercenary, shilling parents.

But this time it's IMPORTANT

Ouch.

As proud as I am of us (Democrats in general, and for its small part, the liberal blogosphere, myself excluded on this particular issue) for basically defeating Bush's assault on Social Security, this still stings.

We won this round but we may have done so on the back of the same American selfishness that caused us to lose on the other issues.

Why George Bush is NOT like Hitler

A delightfully across-the-line Ted Rall cartoon to start off the week.

Prediction: You'll see this again soon enough in some fascist fishwrap as yet more evidence that liberals love Hitler (or are soft on Hitler, or whatever it was) so I thought I'd post it here and give you a leg up.

George Bush: Profligate, Liberal and Weak on Defense

I loved this quote from James Carville:
Back in 2000 a Republican friend warned me that if I voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military would be totally overstretched.

You know what? I DID vote for Gore, he DID win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true!

Here's the equivalent from 2004...
