Governor Hiram Johnson's Progressive California "Johnson" is joined by a guest blogger taking the persona of Romualdo Pacheco, the only Hispanic governor of California, and many others. California's current political climate owes itself partly to my time as governor of this great state. Following the lead of my friend Mayor Sam Yorty in Los Angeles, I've decided to create a statewide forum where discussion of the potential special election (after my own heart) and 2006 primary and general elections can flourish. Along with me, George Pardee, Crocker Jarmon, Bill McKay, Pierre Salanger and Earl Warren will facilitate what we all hope will be an exciting dialogue! Per that first sentence: We note with some irony that Johnson was a Progressive, part of the same movement that brought you California's ballot initiative and the gubernatorial recall that brought Arnold Schwarzenegger into power.
