7/7I remember that the day of 9/11, when for a few
hours the phones were overburdened and I didn't know whether my brothers (in New
York and DC) were OK.
This morning when the radio alarm went off and I heard what had happened, all I could think about was how many people in London must not know about their loved ones. I remember that on the day after 9/11, a military
band at Buckingham Palace played "The Star-Spangled Banner." I had never much
been one for the flag, but there was something that touched me so deeply when
British soldiers played our revolutionary
anthem.
Regardless of whose fault it is, or on whose watch it happened, today it's just a crime and a tragedy. From an atheist and and American: God save the Queen. ![]() I'll be back tomorrow. Posted: Thu - July 7, 2005 at 07:46 AM | Category: | | | |
