Gonzales bamboozle? The word on the street (and in the newsstands) is that right-of-Attila
conservatives are preparing to oppose the possible nomination of Attorney
General Alberto Gonzales to the Supreme Court, on the grounds that he's too
liberal.
Thought-while-shaving: Is it really possible that Gonzales, a man who dismissed the Geneva Conventions as "quaint" in his justification of torture, is "too liberal" for anyone on the right side of the aisle? Isn't it equally possible (in the sense of credible) that the coordinated announcement by certain conservative groups that they would oppose a Gonzales nomination might instead be a political tactic to make his nomination more compatible to centrists?
