(Ex-)Terminators 1, 2 and 3

So far I've heard of three Democrats who are considering challenging Schwarzenegger in 2006.

Each holds statewide office.

They are, in no particular order:

• Phil Angelides (Treasurer)
• Bill Lockyer (Attorney General)
• Steve Westly (Controller)

OK, so that's actually alphabetical order.

And, as it turns out, the order in which I'd rank them on a preferential ballot. At least at this point. But this is based on the thinnest of reasons, and Westly's bronze medal has a lot to do with the way in which Mr. Smarmy Ambitious Go-Getter skeeves me out on a personal level. Watch this space for developments.

Has anyone heard of anyone else considering a run? I want to start watching candidate and proto-candidate behavior as the run-up to the primary begins.
