Keeping up the pressureI want to see Democrats pressing our advantage
against the Governor, rather than giving him time to use his massive resources
to recover.
Democrats divided on negotiations with
Gov.
(LA Times) Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger began trying to salvage his plan to overhaul California's public pension system Tuesday, as Democrats in the Legislature were divided over whether to challenge the governor further. One possibility the article raises is that Democrats might give up on the redistricting proposal as long as the Governor gives back on term limits. This would be atrociously bad strategy: giving the Governor a win in order to protect individual legislators' careers. A bad exchange at half the price, since I think most voters don't really want term limits to be softened. Posted: Wed - April 13, 2005 at 08:04 AM | Category: | | | |
