Protests, protests, everywhereAnti-Schwarzenegger protests are becoming so
commonplace that it's hard to keep up...
...and for the Governor, it's hard to make an
uninterrupted public appearance. Granted, the events don't tend to be as big as
the one in April in San Francisco, but the opposition is
unquestionably keeping up the
pressure.
Crowds of demonstrators, able to organize rapidly via cell phone and email, appear wherever Arnold does. In response, he's taken to sneaking around, appearing around the state unannounced: Dogged by protesters, Schwarzenegger opts for less public venues (AP) Perhaps he's worried that a group of rowdy students will successfully identify his limousine and flip it over, as almost happened in Santa Clara: California students boost anti-Arnold protests (Pacific News Service) Most recently, hundreds of teachers and education professionals turned out to demonstrate against Schwarzenegger's poor funding of education. SB rally protests Schwarzenegger policy (San Bernardino Sun) Carrying signs like "Kindergarten Flop' and "Arnold Gets an F,' more than 500 educators and parents gathered Monday on the busy corner of Hospitality Lane and Waterman Avenue to protest Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed education funding. I'll try to at least mention every protest I hear about, though I'll likely do so in condensed form until such time as, bite my tongue, there are fewer of them. In the meantime, please send along any and all reports of protests, actions, and demonstrations -- especially those with pictures -- and I'll echo them here.
