Fundraiser: Gavin Newsom & David Pepper in San Francisco on Friday


Gavin Newsom is participating in a fundraiser for Cincinnati mayoral hopeful David Pepper. The event is this Friday (tax day).

Pepper is a great guy and a rising star in the party. Plus, he's primed to become a big-city mayor in a hotly contested swing state, and needs our support -- if you've got a C-note, how better to spend it? Throw in an opportunity to rub shoulders with a man who has surprised a lot of us by becoming a hero of civil rights, and it's a steal at twice the price.

I won't be attending unless a rich Democratic sugar mama decides to materialize (though if I'm wishing, I'd rather wish for plane tickets and a hotel at the convention). If you're in the same boat, stop by Pepper's web site and throw him ten bucks, or whatever you can afford. We'll be hearing more from this guy in the future -- say you knew him when.
