San Francisco Young Democrats - Meeting tonight (2/9)

The Drinking Liberally folks passed this on to the mailing list.

I can't make it but check it out if you're free.

Here's the text of the notice:

Hello DL! We want to alert you to an event tonight that may be of particular importance to the younger (<35) DL crowd-- the monthly general membership of SF Young Democrats. It will include a good panel of Labor leaders, but it's a particularly significant meeting tonight because:

1) After the meeting a special working group meeting will look at how to transform SFYD into an effective bottom-up grassroots political organization as an archetype for national YDA reform-- and how to do so in advance of the national YDA convention that will be held here in San Francisco in August. We need new voices and constituencies to help in this transformation, so please encourage your groups to attend.

2) The Club is considering moving its annual elections up to April (instead of July) in order to allow a new Executive Board to better prepare for the August National Convention. If elections are held in April, and if you have not yet attended an SFYD membership meeting, you MUST attend either tonight's meeting or next month's general membership meeting in order to be able to vote or run for office in April.

When: Wednesday, February 9, 2005
Time: 7:00 pm
Where: State Building, 455 Golden Gate Ave, SF

The SF Young Democrats have given a lot of support to our DL group, so let's turn around and help them out tonight! See you tonight I hope, and also tomorrow at DL.

Best,

Susan Harrison and Andrew Hoppin
