Movin' on up


This last week saw a doubling in traffic to Marching Orders, which I consider to be very promising.

Perhaps even more important: Comments tripled and email quintupled. Keep them coming!

There is a real interest in California politics around the country (and the world, for that matter). Folks are watching the early developments for the 2005/2006 election season much more closely than even I would have imagined.

Granted that I am biased, I think this makes a lot of sense: California tends to lead political trends, if not around (in the sense of "all throughout") the nation, at least in the Blue part of the country, and if you believe the hype about Arnold, it may be a lab for the future of the GOP as well. I'm gratified that more readers are visiting here regularly to get updates and hear my spin on the subject.

I hope the trend continues.

Mostly, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who is supporting this little blog while it finds its legs. Thanks for reading, writing, and spreading the word about Marching Orders to your friends and fellow-travelers in California, the USA and the world.

P.S.: Despite this post's focus (traffic) I don't really have dreams of becoming a Big Swingin' Blogger -- and after this week, I'm not sure that I would want to be (check out this recent post in Big Brass Blog for a lurid tale of sniping from below, bombardment from above, and an emergent mental image of a circular firing squad armed with Gatling guns).
